HERETIC powered by THE WRATH OF MAGIC mod: features and comparisons Main features of WOM are graphic replacement, animation improvement and all sorts of extras like blood, fatalities, numerous additional decorations, Reconstruction of weapon graphics from scratch, adding additional elements, replacing enemies,; basically - new looks for EVERYTHING! And alot of new feel too, but without disrupting the classic nostalgic atmosphere and attraction. Wrath of Magic is darker themed than the original Heretic, has more of a gothic appeal to it, as well as it makes killing monsters more enjoyable due to the overall appearance, the remade weapons and death scenes. All the brighter textures and color were removed fro the game, and anything even remotely reminding that you are in something like "Chex Quest" instead of a Doom-oriented fantasy blastfest was carefully replaced with something more becoming. We want to demonstrate just the comparison of the weapon graphics. While the other elements you are welcomed to discover by yourself as you conquer the dark worlds of Heretic: Wrath of Magic once more.
So, here are a few examples: |

There we have the innocent
looking crossbow from Heretic.
Below is the same weapon from "Wrath of Magic". Try it in action and you won't be disappointed! |

The classic Elvenwand from Heretic. And below is it's enhanced variation from the "Wrath of Magic" mod. |

That's
right. This is the old bald head that was occasionally named "Hellstaff" in
Heretic. And below is the True Hellstaff! Now that's what Wrath of Magic is all about!!! |

This
is a stick from Heretic. One useless piece of boring junk indeed.
Well...not anymore! In "Wrath of Magic" you've got a Battleaxe if you want some melee combat. And it is not just a replacement. The Axe is an actual weapon which can be wielded to a very good effect against various creatures. |

Down
here at HMT we have no idea what sort of plumbing inventory is that thing.
Looks like an improvised medieval plunger. LOL Maybe Mario and Luigi would
know the answer, after all, they are professionals in this sort of
business... But no worries: no fantasy hero worth his conquests should go fight demons with a plunger! In "Wrath of Magic" Corvus is armed with the Book of Firewall instead. And it is one Hell of a weapon! It is somewhat of an ammo hog, and it is rare too, but it makes up for it with spectacular looking battles! |

There are several versions about
what is this, but one thing is certain - it is nothing remotely similar to
something bearing the name "Dragon's Claw". So, after asking Corvus himself what would he want for christmas instead of that odd toy, so that he can fight the bad guys in style, we have decided that the Black Thunderstorm Staff was due! Here is it in it's full glory! |

The
old Phoenix Staff was sort of alright. But it was alttle too cherubic, too
wimpy for someone as badass as Corvus....so some makeover was due by all
means! Check out it's "Wrath of Magic" version below! |
